چکیده
ABSTRACT Wave effects in lensing form a rich phenomenon at the intersection of classical caustic singularities and quantum interference, yet are notoriously difficult to model. Due large number recently observed pulsars fast radio bursts astronomy prospected increase sensitivity gravitational wave detectors, have already been plasma will be near future. The interference fringes sensitive physical parameters, which cannot inferred from geometric optics. In particular, for multiplane lensing, pattern depends on redshifts lens planes. I present new method define efficiently evaluate coherent electromagnetic waves by plasmas lenses polynomial time. This allow use gravitational-wave sources probe our universe novel ways.

Quasi-geometrical Optics Approximation in Gravitational Lensing
Abstract. The gravitational lensing of gravitational waves should be treated in the wave optics instead of the geometrical optics when the wave length λ of the gravitational waves is larger than the Schwarzschild radius of the lens mass M. The wave optics is based on the diffraction integral which represents the amplification of the wave amplitude by lensing. We study the asymptotic expansion o...
متن کاملThe finite source size effect and the wave optics in gravitational lensing
Abstract. We investigate the finite source size effect in the context of the wave optics in the gravitational lensing. The magnification of an extended source is presented in an analytic manner for the singular isothermal sphere lens model as well as the point mass lens model with the use of the thin lens approximation. The condition that the finite source size effect becomes substantial is dem...

Here we show that a nonlinear resonance between oceanic surface waves caused by small seabed features (the so called Bragg resonance) can be utilized to create equivalent of lenses and curved mirrors for surface gravity waves. Such gravity wave lenses, which are merely small changes to the seafloor topography and therefore are surface non-invasive, can focus/defocus energy of incident waves tow...
متن کاملNumerical wave optics and the lensing of gravitational waves by globular clusters
We consider the possible effects of gravitational lensing by globular clusters on gravitational waves from asymmetric neutron stars in our galaxy. In the lensing of gravitational waves, the long wavelength, compared with the usual case of optical lensing, can lead to the geometrical optics approximation being invalid, in which case a wave optical solution is necessary. In general, wave optical ...
متن کاملEditorial: Guided-Wave Optics
Guided waves represent a vast class of phenomena in which the propagation of collective excitations in various media is steered in required directions by fixed (or, sometimes, reconfigurable) conduits. Arguably, the most well-known and practically important waveguides are single-mode and multi-mode optical fibers [1,2], including their more sophisticated version in the form of photonic crystal ...
